Kigali, 1 November 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 27th<\/sup> African Union Summit entrusted President Paul Kagame \u201cto lead the ongoing institutional reform of the African Union Commission and its Organs, to ensure that the A.U. structures and modus operandi are aligned with the demands of integration and\u00a0implementation of Agenda 2063, and to enable more effective and\u00a0efficient use of resources and business-oriented delivery\u201d.<\/p>\n

In pursuit of that mandate, on October 31st<\/sup>\u00a0and November 1st<\/sup>, President Kagame held a third round of consultations with an advisory team assisting him with this process.<\/p>\n

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, briefed the group at length about the challenges and opportunities facing the organisation in the years ahead.<\/p>\n

Discussion focused on the changes necessary to make the African Union and its Organs\u00a0more functional and fit-for-purpose, in order to better serve the continent\u2019s needs in a rapidly-changing economic, social, and political context in Africa and globally.<\/p>\n

Over the coming weeks and months, further consultations with a broad range of stakeholders across Africa are set to continue.<\/p>\n

D\u00c9CLARATION SUR LA REFORME DE L\u2019UNION AFRICAINE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kigali, 1er novembre 2016<\/strong> \u2014 Lors du 27e sommet de l\u2019Union Africaine, le Pr\u00e9sident Paul Kagam\u00e9 s\u2019est vu confier la mission de \u00ab mener \u00e0 bien la r\u00e9forme institutionnelle, en cours, de la Commission de l\u2019union Africaine et ses organes, pour s\u2019assurer que les structures de l\u2019Union Africaine et son modus operandi soient en conformit\u00e9 avec les demandes d\u2019int\u00e9gration et la mise en application de l\u2019agenda 2063, ainsi que de permettre une utilisation plus efficace des ressources et une approche plus ax\u00e9e sur les r\u00e9sultats \u00bb.<\/p>\n

C’est dans cette perspective que le 31 octobre et 1er Novembre le Pr\u00e9sident Kagame a men\u00e9e une troisi\u00e8me s\u00e9rie de consultations avec l\u2019\u00e9quipe de conseillers qui l\u2019aident dans ce processus.<\/p>\n

La Pr\u00e9sidente de la Commission de l\u2019Union Africaine, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, a fait un expos\u00e9 approfondi \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipe de conseillers concernant les d\u00e9fis et opportunit\u00e9s auxquels l\u2019organisation fera face dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n

Les discussions se sont focalis\u00e9es sur les changements requis pour permettre \u00e0 l’Union Africaine et ses organes d\u2019adopter des pratiques plus efficaces afin de mieux r\u00e9pondre aux besoins du continent dans le contexte socio-\u00e9conomique et politique actuel aux niveaux r\u00e9gional et global.<\/p>\n
