{"id":4909,"date":"2016-07-08T16:57:36","date_gmt":"2016-07-08T16:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paulkagame.com\/_test_&#038;web\/?p=4909"},"modified":"2017-09-26T09:58:21","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T09:58:21","slug":"president-kagame-inaugurates-kigali-convention-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paulkagame.rw\/2025\/?p=4909","title":{"rendered":"President Kagame inaugurates Kigali convention Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Kigali, 8 July 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Kagame today inaugurated the Kigali Convention Centre, which will host delegates during the African Union Summit scheduled for July 10-18.<\/p>\n<p>In his inauguration speech, President Kagame thanked the forces that were behind the realisation of the project from inception to conclusion, calling it the fruit of not only the spirit of resilience but also hard work and team work.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Through the Rwandan spirit we tried to put up this structure but failed three times. We finally succeeded. The Rwandan spirit means we have failed many times but we don\u2019t give up, we have succeeded more than we have failed. We appreciate the opportunity we were availed with to host the African union summit and that put us under immense pressure to succeed with this facility.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>President Kagame said what remained was for Rwandans and friends of Rwanda all over the world to make good use of what the facility provides.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em><em>Most of us were brought up in small huts that look like this dome, so, it\u2019s truly Rwandan and a modern symbol of our cultural heritage.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thanking the AU Commission for the opportunity accorded to Rwanda to host the Summit, President Kagame said Rwandans look forward to hosting the African Union Summit and that it would make them proud.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px\/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c  no-repeat scroll 3px 50% \/ 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;\">Save<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kigali, 8 July 2016 President Kagame today inaugurated the Kigali Convention Centre, which will host delegates during the African Union Summit scheduled for July 10-18.
