Upon his arrival on Tuesday, President Kagame was hosted to a State banquet in his honor, during which he was awarded\u00a0<em>The Grand Croix<\/em>, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a person by the country.<\/p>\n<p>As part of day two of the visit, both Presidents\u2019 paid a visit to Conakry\u2019s\u00a0<em>Port Autonome<\/em>, or Autonomous Port of Conakry, one of Guinea\u2019s State owned companies responsible for the management of the capital\u2019s port that brings in commercial vessels, mineral carriers and fishing vessels. This was followed by a brief tour of one of Guinea\u2019s\u00a0<em>Blueline<\/em>\u00a0facilities, whose main objective is to study the use of solar energy as a sustainable power source. The facility also doubles as a community center for vulnerable youth.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The State visit was concluded by a joint Presidential press conference during which both Presidents\u2019 witnessed the signing of Seven bilateral agreements that include; removal of Visa requirements to all diplomatic and service passport holders, as well as issuance of Visas to all ordinary passport holders upon arrival in both countries. Cooperation agreements in the sectors of health and medical sciences, management of natural resources and air travel.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks at the conference, President Kagame reiterated Rwanda\u2019s commitment in playing its part in ensuring all agreements come to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>The President went on to\u00a0thank Guinea for its leading role historically in the independence movement; <em>\u201cThe Independence of Africa is now irreversible\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u201cWe look forward to bringing together our African people to work towards the development Africa deserves.<\/em>\u00a0<em>What remains is for us to work together for the better future and development of our continent,\u201d <\/em>the President added.<\/p>\n<p>During bilateral talks that preceded the press conference, President Kagame extended an official invitation to Rwanda to his counterpart President Alpha Conde.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Conakry 9 March 2016 This Wednesday marked the end of President Kagame\u2019s two- day State Visit to Guinea.
