{"id":4118,"date":"2015-04-20T19:52:04","date_gmt":"2015-04-20T19:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/paulkagame.com\/_test_&#038;web\/?p=4118"},"modified":"2017-07-16T10:37:40","modified_gmt":"2017-07-16T10:37:40","slug":"president-kagame-meets-with-president-bouteflika-in-algeria-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paulkagame.rw\/2025\/?p=4118","title":{"rendered":"President Kagame meets with President Bouteflika in Algeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Algiers, 20 April 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Kagame today met with President Abdelaziz Bouteflika for a bilateral meeting where both heads of state committed to strengthening ties including in the areas of investment.<\/p>\n<p>Meeting earlier today with Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, President Kagame spoke on the similarities between the history of liberation of both Algeria and Rwanda:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe long history of liberation of Algeria informed many other countries including ours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On bilateral ties between the two countries, President Kagame added that partnerships should go beyond Rwanda and Algeria:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are happy to be here. It is an opportunity to identify areas of work that can bring us closer together. Our bilateral ties should benefit our two countries and the continent with whom we share challenges and opportunities,\u201d President Kagame added.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the press following his meeting with President Bouteflika, President Kagame pointed to Rwanda and Algeria longstanding relationship adding that both Rwanda and Algeria will continue to collaborate on key issues with other African countries to ensure the political, social and economic well-being of the people of both nations.<\/p>\n<p>On his second visit to Algeria since 2004 during which he attended the NEPAD\u00a0meeting, President Kagame also met with Algeria\u2019s Speaker of the People&#8217;s National Assembly, Mohamed Larbu Oukd Khelifa.
