We surmounted the difficulties of the past two years and came out stronger than we were. The lies that were told about Rwanda came to light.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThose who believe never lose faith. Let us continue to believe in the truth and in our dignity. Rwandans can build their own nation. Working together as Rwandans and with friends, we can reach the goals we have set for ourselves,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>President Kagame added.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the young generation, President Kagame pointed to lessons that should not be wasted from Rwanda\u2019s journey:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cRwanda is not just a name. Today, we have a nation that stands for something.<\/em>\u00a0<em>This was not given to us; it is something we worked for. It is the responsibility of the younger generation to seek to understand our history so that what we fought for and what we stand for is never lost.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>President Kagame added that the next generation should build on today\u2019s accomplishments but strive to achieve more:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThose who will come after us cannot go backwards nor be satisfied where we are today. They must do even more. You do not have to live through our hardships. We lived through them so that you would not have to. If you make the right choices, you will reap the benefits of our sacrifices.
