Huye, 17 May 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Kagame today wound up his two-day visit to the Southern province by attending a graduation ceremony at the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) in Nyanza district.<\/p>\n

President Kagame kicked off his visit in Huye district on May 16,\u00a0 by inaugurating a modern market before heading to the Huye Stadium where he addressed and fielded questions from residents of the district.<\/p>\n

In his address, President Kagame said that the district has all it takes to attain development and solve other underlying challenges: \u201cwe know our problems and we have the solutions so, let us work hard and employ those solutions to solve the problems. I fail to see any reason why the people of Huye should be afflicted by poverty, disease and hunger\u201d.<\/p>\n

Later in the evening, President Kagame visited the National University of Rwanda where he officially inaugurated and toured the state-of-the-art ICT laboratory which was established with the support of the Korean government. <\/span><\/p>\n

To students and staff of the National University, President Kagame said: \u201cThis University should be able to turn ideas and knowledge into tools of transformation for this district. The reality of life is that nothing comes easy, we have to fight for every inch we cover\u201d. While taking questions from students, President Kagame challenged the students to understand the problems of their country and endeavor to find solutions rather than waiting for solutions to come from somewhere else. He posed a question to the students as young people and future leaders of Rwanda: \u201cHow do you define yourselves?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In his address to the first graduands of the Institute of Legal Practice and Development located in Nyanza district, President Kagame pointed out that in any profession, one can only succeed if they posses a commitment to values of honesty, humility, fairness and civility: \u201cToday should be a day of reflection about where you go from here. As pioneers you should regard yourselves as torch bearers\u201d. The President also noted that for f a young institution like the ILDP, the graduation of 100 legal practitioners was a remarkable achievement.<\/span><\/p>\n
